Bridge Challenge 2019
I think the time has come for a new challenge. The Scalene, Equilateral and Cathedral Challenges and have been running for sometime and prior to that we had the Treasure Hunts.
The Bridge Challenge is similar to the Cathedral Challenge in the fact that you are going to find bridges instead of cathedrals. There are 5 main types of bridges, arch, beam, cable stayed, suspension and truss.
I am sure several well known bridges spring to mind, Severn bridge, Humber bridge, Clifton Suspension, Queen Elizabeth 2nd (Dartford Crossing), Orwell bridge and so on. There are many more bridges closer to home than there were Cathedrals so hopefully more people will take part this year.
The object is simply to go out on your bike, find as many bridges as you can, take a photograph with your bike in the picture, as long as it is safe to do so and then send the pictures to me explaining the name of the bridge and it's location at firstname.lastname@example.org It may not be possible to get a close up picture of the bridge you have chosen because of highway rules so a picture from a safe vantage point is acceptable. I will keep a log of who visits what bridges and how many.
The Bridge Challenge will run until the end of 2019, happy hunting.
